ABS - why not?

Same here. 05 1200 GS. 41000 miles and no issues with the ABS whatsoever. :thumb

I had the options of waiting 6 weeks for a ABS spec GSA or a non ABS in three weeks delivery so I went for the later and no TPC...
Now I have been servicing the bike I have less gadgetry to work on or worry about...
I also hated how early the ABS comes on the rear brake.
and dont have to bother about switching off for full day offroading.

Less is more on the GS.

Tell this to my mate....2006 GSA less than 6000 abs fecked ...Over £1000 to sort it
Got a leaking bevel box seal replaced in Austria last year by a main dealer and had a good chat to the mechanic who fitted it
Asked him what were the main problems they had found with the 1200's
He said bevel box oil seal
ESA on pre 2008 bikes
And ABS
Mines got a bevel box but no ABS or ESA...Just like my R100 :D

I think you'll find that your R100 does have ABS. Of the invisible kind - it must have because it's not possible to lock the wheels (only the R100R with twin discs and four piston calipers doesn't have it)! :D

Mine is a 2008 with non servo ABS showing 45K and all working fine. I do suspect the rear caliper might need stripping but at that age its to be expected.

I like the safety margin of ABS and the TCS is nice to have when cornering on slippery roads.
