Thanks for your response.

Hendi:confused:

what lights show when you try to deactivate the ABS,

from memory the upper ABS light stays on to show the ABS has been deactivated (hold down the ABS button while switching the ignition on wait till only the upper light is on and release the ABS button)

1150 ABS problem

when I turn the key I see the batterie light the warning triangle and I then push the ABS and hold but nothing change when I start the bike all light are gone so I guess the ABS is on???, I tryed everything but nothing change, I start to wonder if the right hand switch work or maybe something else ...............

you need to hold the ABS button down before turning the ignition on, then release when the engine is running.

ABS problem

Didi it 3 times nothing change .
Should I start to worry?

have you taken the bike for a run?
could be that the battery is not fully charged, have a half hour run out, turn engine off then re start, it may work?

ABS probem

I will try that tonight, I ride it this weekend for about 300 miles , should have been enough

Thanks

ABS

Bad news I went riding to charge the batterie and I think the ABS was disconected by the previous owner, I even bloked the back tire to double check and I am afraid that the guy which sold it to me didn't want to mention it.That is certainly the reason why the ABS light didn't go on or off on the bike.

I am seriously MADDDDDDDDDDD

You need to take a step back and start with the simple stuff.
Before working out how to turn the ABS off, you need to work out if it's connected / working.

First off, what year is your bike? - Do you have servo (power assisted) brakes or not? (I'm assuming not as you still have full brakes - not just residual - even when the ABS isn't working - is there a whine from under the tank when you apply the brakes?).

So forgetting the ABS button, what happens with the ABS lights during a normal starting procedure - answer the following questions:

1. Ignition on, before you press the starter button - what are the ABS lights doing?

2. Press the starter button, start the engine and ride off - what are the ABS lights doing?

3. When you ride off is there a brief chattering noise and a clunk from under the tank?

After this, post the answers back here and / or read this page - it has some very useful information regarding ABS:

Agreed with the above. Its a bit confusing having a post that starts out by saying "how do I turn off my ABS" and ends up with "My ABS isn't working". It seems to me that either I've missed something here, or the previous owner has done you a favour!

ABS problem

Thanks for the help guys.
First the bike is 2004 1150GSA.
1)when the bike ignition is on the triangle light get on for a few second then turn itself off.
2) same goes when I start the engine, light goes on and almost immediatly goes off.
3)when I ride it off I do not hear any sound like a clank ( I know the sound of it my 1200 was doing it)

I did the rest as from your valuable link
what nesxt..

PS:thanks for taking the time to help.

sounds like your ABS is not working. You should have two red rectangular lights that alternate when the ABS is not on (and then after a while only one stays on), and switch off completely when working.

If you don't want ABS, what''s the problem? If you do... well that could be a whole can of worms!

ABS

I guess that is going to be a job for BMW mechanic.
Its going to hurt$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Thanks guys
