Just got a Garmin Sat Nav thingy to find my way to Tesco's complete with bike mount etc. The mount needs power and comes with the necessary wiring and a loose plug.
I could wire the plug somewhere on the bike but my electric skills are basic and I'm nervous of screwing up the electrics.
I could wire it direct to the battery (but I don't want to)
Or I could use the accessory socket on the left side under the seat.Only thing is I don't know what plug I require.
Does anyone out there know what type plug I need (i,e 1/4 jackplug etc) any potential suppliers.

From the size of the socket,I'm guessing the plug is quite large

Thanks in advance

You can buy the plug from a BMW dealer or there are numerous other places such as Motobins etc who can provide a similar item.

Not sure of the price of the others but the beemer one is about the £7 mark.

Hi Steve, glad you are plodding the well worn path to personalising the bike. Lots of threads on the site re wiring options. Don't forget that the 1200 has a ' spare ' accessory socket up by the instrument display which I believe is purpose designed for wiring in such accessories as GPS. A quich search on the site should give you all the details.
