Has anyone had the additional fuel tanks added to the 800?If so can you post a pic.I have seen the TT website but would like to them real time before i look at investing.
Has there been any issues with them, air locks ect?

I have the 1200 kit (2 side tanks), and I don't rate it at all. The fit is terrible, the fuel lines all rotted and needed replacing in two years, I mailed TT about this but they brushed me off. A hole had to be drilled in the main tank for the system to work, which means hassle if trying to remove the kit to sell on and the finish on both side tanks has faded more than I think it should have...although admittedly I live in a sunny place and the bike is rarely covered. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have bought them. Perhaps the 800 kit is better though, and TT have learned lessons from the 1200 one.

an easy option

Its really for a what if! I can get 180 from my tank now,but last year pushed on a bit to far,had a spare canister but still did not get were i needed to be....Poor planning from my side,i like to go were ever the road takes me.
However after reading and speaking maybe there not the best idea, seems to be issues with them that do not justify the cost.
I like the rear rack which looks like a good idea, will check it out.

Thanks for the advice and pics.

fuel tank

I had a thought that maybe the extra weight on the front folks may interfere with the handling.
so that's really something I'd want clarifying before buying one. anyone have any issues/differences to the handling?

How far are you expecting to be between fuel stops?

279 miles from full tank to push

Overland through Turkey, Iran and Pakistan and along the Karakorum Highway without running out of petrol :thumb

Don't see the need. The fuel range in brilliant. When topped to the rim the tank holds a bit over 17 litres, not 16 litres as BMW state.

If you need more range, slow down and aim at getting 16 miles/litre. This equates to 272 miles. If you need a bit more, take some spare in a plastic bottle and as soon as you've used enough of the fuel from the tank, tip the spare fuel in.

Extra tanks are prone to failures
