Hi,

I don't know if I dreamt this, or if its a real thing, but is there a kit available that allows you to mount another din type socket to the left on the instrument cluster?
R1200 GS LC

TIA.

may be, not that i've seen one.

There are lots of ways of adding more power sockets.
i have...
2 fast charger USB sockets just under the right hand side of my seat.
2 in my top box
2 on the dash (inserted into din socket)
and a Quad Lock smart USB actually under the seat that powers the quad lock wireless charger for my phone.

I dont use the 2 on the din socket much anymore, i used to power things in my tank bag, but since the tank bag really got on my nerves on tours having to remove and refit when filling up i ditched it.
The phone charges wirelessly on the mount so it keeps the front of the bike free from wires.

I have it mounted on my 2021 GS. You need to purchase the bracket at Wunderlich. Works with 1200 and 1250 and then DIN socket (also called Hella socket) wherever you like. They're available everywhere. I connected mine to Hex EzCan but if you don't have it you can connect it straight to the battery with or without relay (use relay if you want it to shut off when you turn off the ignition).

Thank you.

Found this - just what I was looking for.

There are many options available:

The former keeper of my 1250 fitted the dual USB outlet kit to my bikes cockpit in lieu of the DIN socket.

I saw the price of the aftermarket DIN outlet kits for the rear subframe, so bought a DIN socket from a local chandlery and got a chap at work to CNC me the bracket in stainless from a paper template I made. A shot of self-etch and satin black and it looks OE.

It’s wired by fuse direct to the battery so I can run my airman pump, heated vest or connect my optimate, no CAN/LINbus bollocks to mess with.
