Adobe Flash Player

Hi - I cannot get Adobe Flash Player to work even when loaded from the Adobe site. The computer says it has been downloaded but BBC IPlayer (for instance) does not recognise the download - still says I need to download the new version - and so will not open the requested video.
Any help gratefully received.

my girlfriend recently had the same problem, turned out she had downloaded the most recent flash player, but hadn't actually installed the downloaded file.

find the downloaded file and make sure its installed, no harm in installing it again, even if its done already

Hi Graeme and all - eventually found out what the problem was with Flash Player. Somehow and I do not know if it was when I loaded XP SP3 or a Microsoft update but a program called Microsoft Virtual Machine was deleted. Reinstalled and now it all works correctly.
