Hi All,

After some inspiration from others on the forum I decided to make my own support bar.

I initially bought an internal spring pipe bender to bent the 16mm aluminium pipe, but it snapped right off. I then borrowed a proper pipe bender from a mate and did a few practice bends on the off-cuts I had from the first pipe.

Including my mistakes and ending up with an internal pipe bender I might use in the future, it cost me around £30 to make.

Internal pipe bender £12
Aluminium pipe x 2 £12
Screen screws with rubber spacers £3
Silver spray can £3

Here is the final result:

For the small extra weight its a lot easier to use steel tube. A plumbers imperial bender will handle 5/8" OD steel tube. 15mm OD steel is harder to find.

Nice one, love it when folks make their own stuff.

I made one using 10mm alloy tubing and plastic P clamps to attach it to the screen worked a treat and cost less than 3quid.
