I have now spat the dummy at the stock lights on my 2009 Adv. The stock light mounts / bar don't seem to give much choice of lights to mount. Anyone used an after market light bar on one (Migsel does not do one for the post 2008 Adv).
The standard lights don't do much even when HID'd so I will swap them for spotties

Light Bar

Got HIDs on all 4 lights the Aux ones are now better than useless but I want spots so I can light up the roos at a distance, poor vis is not really an issue so I need a light bar of some description that does not foul the crash bars

Hi Roger

According to Migsel's web site, migsel.com, his light bar is suitable for GS Adventures of all years. Got to be worth checking it out.

Yup - I have one fitted on my 08 GSA. You need some square 20mm steel tubing to adapt the OEM lights to fit the light bar as the fitting is different. I have Les Wassells 35 watt HID conversions on mine plus a pair of Hella FF50 spots for main beam. Burns a hole in the road at night with everything on.:)

Also mounted twin Magnum horns on the Migsel as well.

As an alternative to the BMW aux lights have a look at vision x offroad spots, they come with a little bracket and can be bolted anywhere really. I have mine bolted on either side of the beak (not sure what the little holes either side of the beak are for).

The lights are small, use a small draw and are really bright. You could probably mount them on a light bar but I couldnt be bothered.....

I'll be interested to see what you end up doing, so please keep us informed on what you end up doing.

Cheers

Pete

Heres a pic of my set-up.

Replaced standard aux lights with HiD Micro DE's (from Les Wassall).
Plus Hella FF50 spots on top...turn night to day.
