Advice about selling

Not sure if this is in the right section but
I'm trying to sell a high mileage gs 1150
On this forum with cast wheels and a cat and stubby
Would it sell better if I put the original wheels
And the Remus back and on any advice thanks
 
Typically, as long as the parts are quick sellers you're better off stripping them and selling separately. With the parts you listed (Remus, cast wheels) you shouldn't have any problems selling them.

Standard 'perceived' wisdom is that you get the maximum price by selling a standard bike and the parts separately.
I don't have any personal experience to say thats true, but there is sense - A person looking for a GS may or may not see any extra value in your particular choice of additions.

I'd rather like some nice wheels myself..

+1 and i do have experience, although in the past i have previously left loads of good bits (extras) on the bike when i could really have got a better deal by stripping them off :blast
 
I'll give you £100 for the alloys! :D
 
Its probably fair to say that, we all like the idea of buying a standard unmessed with bike, and even though we may have bought the exact same bits and bobs there is something satisfying about customising yourself.

When accessories are added it makes me think the bike has been 'messed with' which can be off putting as I wonder what else has been 'messed with' more told I also think that why not spend your money on maintaining the bike if it looks shabby or why not buy a newer bike rather than bits.
 
I agree, return the bike to standard and then sell the extra's.
I just sold my 2003 GS and removed most of the accessories I had fitted over the years (a few stayed put but not many) and I was very pleased with the money I re-couped. As already stated, if buying a S/H bike most people would look for the most un-molested, standard spec bike they could find, even moreso when we are talking wheels & exhaust.
