Advice needed please, on BMW clothing

I have a silly question for you

I've had my rallye 2 pro for a year or so now, and am finally getting around to exploring it in detail. There are many pockets and things I didn't know existed when i first bought it, and the little booklet that came with it doesn't list them. Is there an exploded diagram somewhere of the jacket, or perhaps just a description of what does what? For example, where is the water bladder pouch it is supposed to have? Is that what the little black slit on the left chest is for? Or is it just a pen pouch?

And the rear thing - what's with the belt buckle - that'll hurt when you fall on it. Is it just a carry bag, or something else?

There is also a second zip in liner once you take out the goretex one. Is this for general use? Or is it only to get the padding out for putting it in the washing machine?

Just had a look at the Rallye Pro 11 at my local dealer. They want $675 for the jacket, which seems rather much, don't you think?

Bonox,

The water pouch is hidden in the outer shell of the jacket. Take the goretex liner out, then take the protective liner out (the second zip you referred to) - the pouch for the water bladder is on the inside back of the outer shell. The pipe for the water then routes through a small hole on the left of the pouch and up through the little black slit (the pen pouch :D ) on the left breast.

IMHO, is not the most practical design as it means removing the liner to refill the bladder each time - a camel back is easier. :thumb

The pouch at the back was apparently designed to hold your toolkit for those Dakar stages we aspire to! personally I use it to store the goretex liner on a daily commuting basis and for a small first aid kit when doing longer trips (tools are waaaay to heavy to keep there imho).
