Hi All,

On my 100 mile journey home from Portsmouth this evening my K1200RS had a problem with the brake system (servo assisted with ABS). This problem occured twice, and fortunately both times were at very low speed and almost coming to a stop.

The servo seemed to fail and I was left with the residual brake pressure only, which required a significant pull on the lever. The "brake failure" light was on both times. The problem was cured by switching the ignition off, and then re-starting the bike. After re-setting the self test worked perfectly and the brakes seemed to function as normal.

Any advice will be very gratefully received :)

Check your battery is fully charged and giving the correct output.

I am sure there will be other advice coming along...
