Advice please on fitting a centre stand to a lowered suspension f650gs

Hi.
I recently purchased a lowered F650gs but would like to fit a centre stand. I wondered if any of you know of anyone producing a modified centre stand or has anyone manufactured their own? If so, is it Relatively easy to do?

I was looking at lowered option (ended up just going for lowered seat in the end) and also the lack of sidestand. As i recall touratech do a sidestand made of straight parts that should be far easier to mod than the BMW curved one. The TT one could just be cut off at the 'ankles' and have new feet welded to the tubes.

I put a centre stand on a lowered 650, works fine, no problem although getting it on the centre stand is a little harder than normal but still relatively easy. used a normal centre stand for a 650.

There must be a factory centre stand specific for the lowered 650GS. Have you tried your dealer?

I think that's the problem, we were told that we couldnt put a centre stand on the lowered version but it's been on there 3 years now with no issues. I think that the placement of the fixings wouldnt allow a sufficient reach for the bike to remain in a secure position?

Hi there,

I have an 08 lowered F650GS. I managed to find one made for the lowered bikes here:

It is the one for £108.66 it was a doddle to fit and works fine. Comes with all the fixings and the spring was easy to engage with a big screwdriver

Hi, A little cheeky of me as I'm sure you're busy and have lots of other things to do. Could you possible post a picture of where it is fitted - with the bike on its side stand, and viewed from the underneath.....

I have a lowered F650GS and the side stand mount hit the ground on a tight left hand bend and flipped the tail end up into the air and down I went..!! Would like to see if the centre stand sits lower than the side stand mount. If it doesn't then I'll be getting a centre stand too....

Even if it fits, I think I'd probably find getting the bike on the standard centre stand a bit difficult.
I like the look of the SW Motech one, so thanks Balders I'm just going to order one.
