After reading this I did mine in the same way whilst the front end was stripped for disc / pad replacement. Very pleased with the result as normally me and paint dont get on.

Brilliant job that.

How well does the paint match the rest of the bike?

Its nothing like the black or yellow

8 months on of daily all weather commuting and its still looking good

that silver stuff goes on brilliantly, i sprayed my sv forks with it earlier in the year, stripped them down to bare ally, one coat of etch primer then about three coats of silver, no runs at all and a perfect finish.
