93hp, 72lbft, 228kg wet according to a honda leak posted on Visordown.
So what are the thoughts about the DCT? For gear changes and for being able to do them from the handlebars, it sounds appealing.
But what about not having a clutch for when you need to cut power, for rut changing, root crossing, and, most importantly, when you've overcooked it and need cut power quickly!
It also seems like all the wheelies done in the video are done by the one with a conventional gearbox...

I'm not getting hung up on numbers too much. I'll read the tests in the mags when they come out, digest the info and see how she feels when the wheels hit the showroom floor. Then it's judgement time.

Specs read like a sack of shite, so far.......................the KTM 1050 has a better tech spec than the AT
................and to think you sold a 1190R, a year early
Hope you're are not too disappointed, I would be![]()

Having and still owning some heavy weight very off-road capable machines I thinking...
The Honda will hide its weight well, it will be a very capable out of the box on/off road machine with a peach of a motor for the dirt yet still very good for the road
The KTM in comparison will be like a very good kit car, which will match and beat it in certain areas but the sum of the parts will not match the whole polished Honda package

And I think KTM have sold very few 1050's, just 38 showing as on the road so far on "How Many Left". Though with the price drop it is looking great value.
That said, it is a lot lighter than a Super Ten, and probably going to be more reliable than the European offerings, and Honda are far from stupid. I think we have to wait and see.

The other manufacturers must be smiling today, after all the Honda hype

The KTM 1050 wa the real disappointment for me....neither fish nor fowl. They had the opportunity to give us a relatively light weight replacement for the 990 and screwed it up IMO. No spoked wheels and wrong size plus too close to the 1190 in price. Lighter weight, more off road orientation less electronic gizmo's and the new price would have been a real adventure bike and probably sold more.
Depending on the price of the Honda, they seem to have almost got this right....apart from the weight....10-15 kgs over BUT will defo give it a test ride.
