I know, I know and I'm be willing to bet that many of those naysayers, many of those that criticise the WC have never even ridden one!

FFS what do they know? Patronising, pompous, arrogant cnuts

Andres

I know, I know - some people eh? :)

At least if I slag a bike off I make sure I've ridden it first ...

Here's proper grunt - it's got a Sat Nav too :)

No, that's not proper grunt, that's just a bit more grunt than an AT but less grunt than a much gruntier bike.

FFS its not the gearbox! its the clutch which drags more that it should - which I believe is all connected to it being a self-energising slipper clutch - I KNOW other bikes have similar clutches and don't clonk as much as the GS and this is what BMW need to address if they can - BUT one can use this clutch/gearbox perfectly smoothly if one bothers to adapt. It has hardly been a show stopper for most of the World, just look at the sales figures! There will, of course, always be a few 'sensitive' types who just cannot work it out though! :)

Acknowledgement that BMW have an issue with their transmission that manifests as a clunky, notchy, unpleasant gearchange and difficulty selecting neutral. Something they need to rectify "if they can".

In days of old the agricultural gearchange of BMW's was blamed on the engine speed input shaft. That of course has been eliminated in the WC so what is the current excuse? It hasn't stopped thousands of lemmings buying, or leasing, the "premium brand" BMW bikes complete with transmission that BMW "need to address". Personally I'm more discerning and if I wasn't allergic to chains I may even have one of those funny Austrian orange things or more likely an AT.

Only a few really have an issue with it, tens of thousands don't.

What USP does the AT have? I am struggling to see one - The base model has none, the DCT has an auto gearbox that has been done before on other Hondas - all the reports show it as very nice bike that is more biassed towards off road use than the GS - great for those who want to do Morrocco and the sand but less good for long distance fully loaded travel.

Horses for courses but not a GS slayer :)

Davey .... What is Tripmaster .. ??

Tripmaster is used by many of the Dakar riding gods......and I wouldn't be putting it where this owner has. It looks smaller in my hand than in this picture......story if my life ! :aidan And apparently it does lots of things...tells distance, what side of the equator you're on, sees old ladies across the road, makes tea etc etc. :D
