Aftermarket paralever arm....

I tried to order a machined aluminium parlaever torque arm from Nippy Norman a few weeks ago, but I was told they are no longer available. Does anyone know of another supplier of something like this?

P.S I have used the search facility before some un helpful soul suggests so.....

You need to watch what you do with these things. Too much of an angle and you will put a strain on the Universal joint.

I had thought to get one that is dimensionally the same as the standard to avoid this, if I were to buy and adjustable arm, I could just set it to standard length...........

Hi, I have the adjustable one on my bike. Don't know what it does if you play around with it but it does look the Dogs Doodlys. Suggest having a look around the german BMW sites as you might get one cheaper. Mine was already on the bike but I'm sure I've seen them for under 200 euros.

Excuse my ignorance here but if you fit an adjustable paralever, what is the effect of:

a. Lengthening it?

b. shortening it ?

It can be used to raise or lower the ride height.

Which in turn will quicken or slow the steering aswell.

Why did you use one at all?

Saw a guy at SPC on Saturday, intrigued by his modified, welded on fatfoot sidestand. Got talking to him, he's dropped the height of the bike using Ohlins. This meant that the sidestand was too long, shortened that, same for mainstand, then had to get an adjustable torque arm.

Must have cost a fair few quid, didn't strike me as being particularly short, but I think he said the weight was an issue.

Point being, at what point of adjustment are the stands no longer usable?
