When I was in France I noticed a 1200 gs whith the top box where the pillion seat is which is what I do then he had a small rack behind that not the standard one. Any ideas ?? Thanks
Dunno about the GS, but that's standard on the GSA - you can pop the pillion seat off, unbolt the rear rack and refit it where the pillion seat was, then you are left with a dinky little rear rack poking out behind the top case.
Yes but AFAIK they're just plates, now if someone would come up with something like Jesse use on their luggage, ie a plate with a built in small box and then designed to take a topbox plate, that would be very handy.
Didn't realise I could move my rear carrier forward, will have to investigate further.

I'm sure the OP already knows this but for everyone else's benefit on an R1200 GS you can't fit a standard Vario Top Box in place of the pillion seat without removing the standard rear rack first
