Just done 3000 miles in 9 days and the seat was torture. Anybody recommend a seat? Anybody have experience with Touretech seat they can share?

Found mine to be pretty bad on a long run too
I’ve moved the lever under the seat to the alternative position and it seems to have helped a fair bit although I haven’t done a proper long day since I moved it
Maybe give it a try?

Just come back from 2250 miles round France with Cool Covers fitted for the first time for our annual trip to Europe. Both rider and pillion are very happy doing 200 mile average days with no discomfort at all.
I have the enduro pack which comes with the high seat so a little more padding and comfort.
Jury's out for me with the cool covers,couldnt really tell any difference,taken them off now, sat on a shelf in my garage.
I've also moved the lever under the seat, again no difference, for me anyway.

I have the high seat with cool cover and wunderlichs bobbjns to lift the front of the seat and i find it all day comfy (350 is the most i've done in a day on this bike)
I’ve the comfort seat although I’m convinced it has zero comfort and cuts the hole off me. New seat or insert needed.

Mine is the high comfort seat which is like sitting on concrete but the 1250 equivalent was all day comfy......they must have changed suppliers for the 1300 to save 30 pence per seat!
Exactly. My 1250GSA was all day long comfy - I feel discomfort after an hour on the ‘comfort’ seat.

There is a thread below re my recent purchase of a Sargent Seat. Very comfortable but £550 without heating. My arse loves it.
invested in a set of Rippl shorts - transformed my comfort on the bike!

My standard height ‘comfort’ seat has become much more acceptable since I lost weight, when I got the bike (March 24) I was two stones heavier than I am now.
I’m still slightly overweight according to NHS guidelines but the seats a lot better.

Have now done 1500 miles on my Sargent seat and find it excellent.
The stock seat literally gave me a pain in the ass (and hips) - this has now disappeared.
Shame to have to spend so much to sort it out but worth every penny for me.

I bought a Wunderlich high heated seat for my 1300gs. It's more comfortable over long distances than the stock BMW high heated comfort seat I had.
Cost £455 from Motorworks.
It's higher at the front of the seat so you don't get pushed forward to the tank like the BMW seat. It's also firmer and a bit wider\flatter where you need it. Did 220 miles on it yesterday and I was comfortable.

P S. As a word of caution to the above , with the Wunderlich high seat being more level front to back than the standard BM high seat it does mean I am not flat footed with both when at a stop. (Due to more padding at the front). I don't find it a problem (32" inside leg) but if you are on the limit with the BMW high seat (even with adaptive ride height) the high Wunderlich seat may be too high & standard height may be better??.

Try a Russell daylong seat I have one on my 1250 and it’s undeliverably comfortable.
I had the chance to give a GSA a good test yesterday while mine was getting some updates and recalls done.
Did about 200 miles and its a great bike of course - personally I like the styling and the extra weight - didn't find to big to hustle along.
But the seat - bugger me that's crap! After 50 miles I was grumbling and fidgeting about trying to get comfy - standing up / stretching legs out. Arse aching, hips aching, knees aching.
It was possibly the low seat option as I could get my feet down easily (so less padding?), but the difference between that and my Sargent is astounding.
I rode about a 1000 miles a couple of weeks ago around Wales and didn't have a problem at all even after 9 hours solid riding.
I appreciate that everyone has their own favourite supplier so I guess most after-market options are good and all must be a better alternative to the stock seats.
And for those of you who never have a problem with a stock BMW seat - well that's great for you, plus you get to save a few hundred quid too; or is it that you've now got so much nerve damage in your butt that really you need to see a doctor
