silly question time ...... can you take the grill piece out of the airbox?

It's there to stop large bits getting to the inlet tract

I wanted to take it out and have a wipe round after my swimming incident, then replace

at the left rear underside there should be a drain plug that should suffice to get most of it out from memory the grill is bonded in and I wouldn't get that excited

a little water vapour will do no harm in fact it improves your volumetric efficiency

But that's another story
