Hi all,

Got some serious mileage comming up the next couple of months and am looking to protect my butt :rob

Looking at an airhawk seat and would like to know what is the best size to go for on an 1150GS non ADV.

Also any feedback from people who have used them.

Good points, bad points etc.

Good point b ut doing 2.5k around europe in sept and looking to be able to do longer runs without stopping, espescialy on the route down. :)

hi there BnT, I think the Airhawk you are after is the Cruiser Medium. I bought one of Tarka recently and can recommend them very highly, well worth the dosh IMO.

my mate paid £130 for an Airhawk off e bay, my step dad has a hemorrhoid cushion that cost £7 from a Sunday paper suppliment.
I recon it would do the same job.
I use a sheepskin, £35 from the Dolgellau wool shop, cut up would make 6 covers.
The real secret though is to ride more often, I was told this by a long distance cyclist and this year I have proved it to myself to be true.

Cruiser medium fits well. They do a cheaper version than the neoprene one but, if it gets damaged, it is irrepearable.

I have been delighted with mine - it has doubled my maximum daily mileage.

I would have to add that I think it is best for long days on major roads - i.e. perfect if tanking through northern France to get to the more interesting bits. If the day is spent on twisties, I prefer to ride without it as I feel I have slightly more control and weight shifting on the bends seems to stop my arse from getting sore. I suppose weight shifting would keep me more comfortable on the major roads but you look a bit of a prat trying to get your knee down at 90mph on an autoroute!

Hi Jon

I've got their Budget Cruiser medium and have had it for about a year did over 4000 miles around Europe with it a month ago. Takes getting use to especially through the twitsty bits in the Alps but would not go without one if you plan big days. I have a standard GS non AdV aswell did Lake Geneva to West Sussex on the last day no problems...
Cheers Adrian
