Does anyone know if a thread on here devoted to advice on cleaning our boxer engines! Want to get down and dirty with my r100! What's the latest thoughts or experiences on the topic?

Not quite so matey Do a search. There are a few threads dedicated to getting the engine as clean as new.

Agreed... a good spray of Duck Oil is my cleaning regime.

There's no corrosion, everything works, enough said

You can't see the dirt on Mr Nimrod's airhead, because of all the muck on it!
