I've always used and recommended Peter James for my GS insurance. The price has crept up in the past couple of years but what the heck. This year, the renewal was a hefty increase to £140. :eek

I did the comparison sites and Carole Nash came out at £80 for their "Essentials" cover. That simply means none of the extra stuff like breakdown cover, legal etc. Aegeas was the underwriter and excess was zero. Plus 3rd party cover for riding other bikes, cover riding abroad etc.

I completed a valuation form and sent in pics and got agreed value too.

The only downside seems to be admin charges for making changes. I won't be making any.

I thought I'd share. :thumb

I'm with Peter James, but joined the VMCC, which costs £40, but you get a hefty discount on insurance from PJ and a nice glossy mag each month. To late now though :)

Peter James Insurance also administer the BMW Club scheme as well as the one for the VMCC. The two schemes are virtually identical from what I can see and from conversations with them. I'm insured with them via the VMCC, whilst my wife and daughter have switched to them this year via the BMW Club.

Although prices have crept up recently (what hasn't), both schemes are the only ones I've found so far that will allow multiple bikes with multiple riders, so all three of my bikes can be ridden by myself, my wife and daughter. There was no increase in premium to add them to the policy either. They also have some useful extras thrown in such as European breakdown, agreed valuations (under £10k without appraisal), salvage retention, upgrade from third party to comprehensive cover if riding another members bike, etc. Worth a look and the £40 or so membership fee if you need the extras.

The VMCC monthly mag is a quality publication, so a bonus :)

My old airheads GS’s, along with the old Guzzi, Hondas etc are on my classic multi bike policy with Carole Nash.

All my bikes are on a multi policy with Peter Best. I meant to go with Peter James but got mixed up (I'd had Classic Car insurance with PB before)! Anyway, got a REALLY good deal. Worth getting a quote from them.

I’m with Bennett’s this year for three bikes including an airhead, CNash declined my renewal when I said my garage is wooden. Having them all on one policy is easy but it means if I split one off I have no no claims discount for another policy.
I’ll look at the suggestions above next year. European breakdown is useful as it normally doesn’t have a bike age limit if part of the policy.
