airhead project build (with pictures)

i can assure you if i advertise for parts or ask for them for the project they will not reappear on e bay at a inflated price ,but i iunderstand your point of view ,and thanks for the info allready ............thanks dave

I've known Dave for well over 20 years and can vouch for his integrity. He's quite bonkers of course but his integrity cannot be questioned. :beerjug:

any suggestions or ides welcome as are any parts you have for sale , its currently running a 21 inch front wheel may look for a smaller wheel as i want to put on an old firestone or coker tyre

I'm gonna have a few random bits left over once I've got the R90S back in one piece. I'm not sure if any would be useful tho?

So far in the leftovers I have a random R100 tank, a genuine R90S fairing (which has had a repair in the past) some 'Twin Brembos' forks and a pair of brembo callipers if they are more the style you are thinking (although I reckon an early GT750 4LS Drum or heeeuge Grimeca would look best).

You need Keira in these leathers to match that helmet too!:D

im allways interested in airhead parts it just depends on what you want for them ,and as said before these are not to buy and punt out at more money later on ,im a hoarder not a seller !!!!!!!!!!!

I dunno what they're worth?:nenau If I had any idea at all they'd already be in the 'For sale' section!:D

I do have a £200 balance bill to come soon at the Ginger bike paint sprayer's tho. (Mollie Ringwold just reminded me, 'cos Pretty in Pink is on telly):)

That seems far too sensible!:D

I'm already scouring the David Silver website for N.O.S tat to fit to my MT5 that I haven't even collected yet.

I'll surely spend more on it by Christmas than I spent on my actual moped (SS50) in the whole year (of riding every day) that I was 16:blast

SS50's were mammy boy's bikes, real ard men had Fs1e's :D

They seemed to run faster when they ran right, but Some of the funniest crashes I ever watched unfolded on FSiEs in front of me:eek:

Plus the FSie's simple '4-down' gear change was ideal for the people who found the SS50's 5 normal gears too complicated.:D

Early SS50's had 4 speeds and flat bars, the 5 speed was a weaker box, you could start a Start a SS50 by putting a coin behind the ignition switch rubber cover!

another nice one others might disagree.

I'm a little puzzled by the whole 'knobbly tyre on pure road bike' thing. If, on the other hand, it is going to taken onto the odd muddy track, then that front 'mudguard' is going to last about ½ a wheel-rotation! I know, I've got no sense of aesthetics! But yes, it is a very nice looking bike indeed.

The universal mudguards on this were only £28 each, in ally. They've never been that shiny but have stood up to various types of abuse OK.

With the wide bars the silly front tyre (Van-Van front wheel size Dunlop K181s, classic dirt track pattern, front and rear) doesn't feel noticeably weird either.

Such tyres could mebee look a little less wrong on cast wheels than TKC80s do, if only because Flattrackers often use cast wheels where trail bikes don't?

And they are cheaper :D
