pictures of the ural headlamp bucket,

I would have to say that they need a bit of work,



there's one which has a short rim,




and one with a peaked rim,



the rims need a bit of steel to catch in the bucket to hold in a slot at the top, then a screw at the bottom fixes it, they will need slight adjustment of the rim or bucket because the rim is not a great fit, the quality of the chrome rim is not great, but I intended to paint them anyhow, and there are no spring clips to hold the lamp body in!

they owe me £30 each!

thanks rob ,yes commando pipes one of my favourites i started looking at it today ,looked at the wiring then looked away ,its a horror story that bit scares me ive no idea where to start what i do know (and i guessed ) its a full on strip down .
with no mechanical knowledge of an airhead this should be fun

this one is the best cafe racer out there ,his build thread on adv rider was great ,and the exhust system is propper ace

Front wheels are fetching in the region of £200. When I sold the wheels to BigYellaGS the front was a 19" it may be worth asking Swesty if he's still in touch to see if he has the original rim otherwise you can get a new rim that's virtually identical from central wheels (the Turismo Cross rim I think) http://www.central-wheel.co.uk/rims/morad_rim/morad_rim.html it'll cost around £160 + spokes and rebuilding though.

cheers rob its early days and i may look for a set of cast wheels i like the snowflake pattern ,but i guess there expensive as well ,i dont want to get carried away as it just meant to be a nice weekend cheap ride , i will order a new set of round rocker covers and a exhaust spanner tommorow as i need them.

cast wont work on this willit as i have a drum rear

just a picture to keep me going ,sort of taken the loom out what a mess like trying to unravel a bowl of spagetthi ,next disconect the drive shaft ,loosen swing arm ,wheel back gearbox out ,its all new for me ,i think i have sourced a set of cast wheels spent my first money£111.72p for a set of round rocker covers ,a heavy duty exhaust spanner ,and delivery charges .
i am fearing the budget is on a downward spiral i know that now ,i dont have tons of money ( or knowledge)but i want to get it right ,or right for me .
this is a feeling of deja vu as the last project i started was a £250 xs bobber which some how spiralled into a £7000 harley bobber..
anyway i can post a picture of progress if any ones interested .

i knew that in the begining really i had just put it to the back of my mind in the hope it wouldnt raise its head ,on a plus note i am going down to see jake at south coast boxers to get a set of wheels ,then straight of to the powder coaters ,new wheel bearings and shims and thats most of my budget !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
if i can get it in at £1200 i would be happy
