Allihies again.. but off to Asia soon....
M8 of mine has a R100S which has been off road for two years. It was leaking petrol so he chnaged all the "tubes" but it still leaks, so any ideas, carb float, fuel cock?

I don't know and neither does he....

Usually the float sticking. Probably due to a bit of grit in there or more likely gungy petrol residue from standing for two years.

You'll need to pop the bottom off the carb and kleen thinks up inside. Not too technical, quite easy really.

Val.

Remove float bowls ( have two new float bowl OE gaskets ready ) and spray inside/underneath jets with carb cleaner ( not brake cleaner ). Fill bowls with carb cleaner and re-fit using new gaskets. Crank over engine a few times to draw the carb cleaner through ( leave petrol turned off ) wait a few minutes then crank over again...hopefully any residue will be flushed out. Also tickle the crab floats up and down before doing the above, just to loosen off the float needle ( worn tips can also cause this ).
Switch on petrol and see it that helps ( I also put a dash of redex in my airheads and don't usually suffer petrol stained boots !! )

Failing this, carbs off and ( doing one at a time ) fit a carb kit ( not cheap sadly).

One of those Air Dusters (an aerosol of compressed air) will come in handy for cleaning out jets and airways. I think I saw them in tesco for about a fiver.

I use a gas refill canister. The little adapters that come with them make it easy to blow the gas though the holes.
