Hi , my R100GS is running rough tried all the things that I can think off but no joy. Can anyone recommend a dealer or mechanic who would be wiling to try to sort this out? I am in London but willing to travel . Need bike for trip to Spain at end of August

Bob porecha in sydenham...if he's still going

Shop is still there and shims from my front wheel where sourced from Bob last year. Bikes in window covered though.

Steptoe not prepared to work on the bike as it has been fitted with electronic ignition . Phil the Boxerman sorted it out . He was absolutely fabulous agreeing to work on it at short notice , he is not only fantastically knowledgeable but a really nice guy and a real enthusiast , cannot recommend him highly enough .
So what was wrong with the bike? well not really sure , looks like it was a duff spark plug but aggravated by inept spannering by a mate who managed to loose some carb parts . Ready for the Pyrenees now!

I don't have a GS or a motorbike for that matter. However recently I had the good fortune of working at the Goodwood Revival, where I got introduced to a lovely BMW motorcycle called the Rennsport.

That got me thinking, could I possibly learn about these bikes by tinkering around with them on weekends ?

Anyone know a specialist who does Friday afternoons, Saturdays and wouln't mind a hand ?

P.S - I know my way around Porsches with boxer airheads, if that helps.

A good Carpenter , will never finish another Carpenters work.

But i wonder is there more to this story ? ..

Everybike i've worked on for the last 20 plus years has had electronic ignition fitted, it tends to come fitted as standard. :D

I was told the bike wasn't running, and it could be the aftermarket electronic ignition that someone else had fitted.
I thought it best to get the person who'd fitted the ignition to put it right. :nenau
