I am mid messing about with my R100RT... It started with a duff beancan and then progressed to a new timing chain as well... As it's been a bit of a slow job I forgot I had left it in 5th gear to move the crank around and moved the bike a metre or so with it in gear, the plugs out and the cam chain off to work on it... Do the timing marks on the sprockets line up with the left pot on TDC for compression or is it the right pot... Knowing me I have probably just set it up 360 degrees out...:blast:D

My fault for not getting an f'ing move on and leaving it for a while mid job...

Yep! It doesn't matter.

Have you swapped the crank sprocket as well? The chains last much longer if you replace the crank sprocket.

Cheers guys... music to my ears and as i hoped...

I meant to but I have not had the patience/good enough puller to remove it... I have applied a fair bit of heat but my pullers haven't touched it so I am putting it back together for a while as it is... Their is some slight lateral wear but hardly noticeable wear of the teeth... Your advice before was excellent and i did give it a go but whatever, it won't be rattling like it was before...:)

Cheers again...
