Al Jess Lookalikes

paul yes they are a bargain ,bigger and cheaper than jesse bags.

Andy ,that was not the best reply I have ever posted.
I apologise if it looked like i was criticising your efforts .

OK, I'm the bloke making these, they will fit what I tell them to fit, if you want them on your golf trolley they'll fit, trust me. Every thing you see starts out as a flat sheet of aluminium or flat steel stock so there's no problem with fitting them to anything. There will be a cut out for a standard exhaust, which should fit most other aftermarket pipes, but there are so many options, I'll just have to see how it goes. Don't worry about the fit, any problems and I'll do it myself for you. Some bloke wants some for an XJ900, if he wants to pay the bill, I'll fit them. Any more question, I'll be only to happy to help, you never know I might have missed somthing? I'm off now, cheap French beer awaits

Yes please Andy, I'll have a set for Christmas methinks!

Let me know how you want to do the deal, presume some money up front would be useful?

C'mon you lot, support fine craftsmanship in the UK!

(do I get a discount for advertising? ;)

Look out people who make crap stuff over the sea,I'm coming to get you, one at a time?

oi andy

the price quoted is for the 60 ltr units is there a price diff for say a set of 40ltr boxes??

What I've tried to do is make it as basic as possible with as much choice as possible. There is no difference in price,as the material costs remain pretty much the same i.e. what aluminium I use to make a big set just ends up as scrap when making a small set, and the price of the scrap is to small to worry about. What you are paying for is the cutting, folding and welding, that is the main cost involved. The trick catches cost ME £50 a pair, and thats all you pay for them, unless I order silly quantities, the price doesn't change that much (start talking about £10000 outlay to make a significant saving) I think I've done my homework on this job,but any questions or suggestions you have, fire away.

Andy : Am very interested and would like to discuss options with you, as I would like a slight variation in terms of the mounting brackets. Can I call you or would you give me a ring on 07776 132100

Thanks

Pedro (GS80Basic)

Has anyone managed to get a straight answer as to roughly the price?

Al Jesse ones are $600 which makes them £450 in real money, is this the sort of price we are looking at? More? Less? Lots less?

I think you may find that's each Ian...... not much change from £1000 for the Al Jess from what I recall, Verns are £599 any size from 66 ltr per side down to what ever size you want

Don't know where you got $600 from,$1050 is the price for the "foriegn" stuff, and that's if you buy it there,by the time you get it delivered to the UK,the price has reached almost £1000.

headlight/oilcooler guard/aux light bracket

does this idea from the states look useful to solve the above things in one go.

I found it whilst looking on the micapeak site and thought it was worth a look.
cheers Jez.

ps, I'll be ordering some panniers before I put the 1150 back on the road next xmas. I don't think they will go on the C90 that I'm riding for the next year.
