I wonder if you guys can help me with this one. I have recently taken ownership of an '06 bike and it has what I assume is an alarm keyfob. But, there is no mention of it in the handbook. If it is the alarm fob how does it work? and how can i tell if its got coded keys? the dealer said it had but they look a little small for keys with electrickery in

The alarm has a whole manual for itself.

But as a simple guide: Left button when you leave it (indicators may flash and beeping sound may be heard depending on which mode alarm has decided to be in)... Right button when you return ..any number of beepings and flashings may occur.

LED on the dash should flash when alarm is active, but may stop after 48 hours if it bets bored/battery is low or phase of moon is unsatisfactory, immobiliser remains operative.

All you need to do now is sit in a pentacle drawn with salt and recite the handbook backwards and no harm will befall ye..

I made the last bit up.

:P

PS: All 1200GSs have coded keys.

You can disable auto set. The bmw alarm is configurable up to a certain extent, if its the same as mine...
