Alarm Fobs!!

That's interesting my dealer said the alarm function was built into the new key!! I'm now wondering if he was right.

Picked bike up today minus crash bars, tinted screen and Akrapovic. The panniers arrived as I arrived to pick the bike up!

The built in to key is true BUT what if your on a ferry and you want to turn it off or what if your alarm is screaming at 4 in the morning. ANSWER: To turn it OFF you must insert key then go to SET UP MENU, FIND ALARM MENU and shut it off. Gimme a break. It needs the FOB. My dealer said it was on the way but thats 4 weeks ago. Currently my alarm is disabled.

That makes more sense. Dealer said he could't understand why the alarm didn't go off when he moved the bike (so I assume it's disabled), yet their Demo bike which also has an alarm, sounded when moved but hadn't worked out how to turn it off!!

I'll ask them to chase up the fobs then!! I don't fancy the rigmarole of turning it off the way you explained!

Great to see that the stealers know what to do, not:blast

After reading the manual I'm not surprised dealers are not 100% clued up there is so much to learn. Having said that does anyone know how to change the date read out from American (month, date, year) to European (date, month, year) small thing I know but annoying and I can't see it in the book.:nenau

Sorry to be the bearer of bad new guys, but I've heard that there will not be alarm fobs for the new LC.:blast One of the guys on the Adv forum reckons BMW Germany has confirmed this.:blast:blast

Yep the wise old Nutty is right again. Dealer confirms no fob, you use the setup menu to turn alarm on or off and that's it! (It's under DWA in the setting menu what ever that stands for :nenau!)

Will speak to my dealer Tuesday but last time I spoke he said that they were being sorted. The current menu set up is a pain in the asse.

Be an interesting conversation with the insurance company if the bike gets pinched, and the insurance premium was based on having a working alarm system.

I wish they'd inform the dealers about this, I asked about one for my alarm this morning, The answer! most of the accessories are on back order,

Hi

I picked up my bike this morning and they told me there are no fobs, the ignition key does it and if you want to change any settings you do it through the menu.

I'm not surprised

But why give me , with my instruction book and warranty book an anti theft alarm Instruction manual on how to use the Fob control DWA6 :blast
