Alaska 2016

Looks a great itinerary. I've ridden King's Canyon - it's not busy as it's a dead end and Americans don't do dead ends! Beautiful scenery too. Crater lake and Zion park are also breathtaking. Enjoy!

No - here is a question after reading the "addicted to super" thread...

Who needs Octane Booster for the wilds.... I carry a kilo or two of anthracite to make up for the nutty slack we often find in the wilds of the US - 90 is good out there!

Just another boring post :)

http://store.usgs.gov/pass/annual.html

$80 pass covers all national parks in US (Canada separate obviously)..
AND it covers 2 bikes (up to 4 people) so if you intend to travel together you can share :) so £28 each!!

Andy and I saved a few bob with this last time... all went on speeding fines though :D they aren't covered by it...:nenau

Just a reminder of this meeting on Saturday 6th February.

Everyone welcome:thumb

I trust you all had a good Christmas and New Year. Now all that's over we can get down to the real business of trips for 2016. As I've mentioned, we will have a pre trip meeting to go through all the details. It also gives us a great opportunity to meet each other and ask any questions you need to.

The date will be Saturday 6th February 2016 and the details are as follows:

Adventure Bike Warehouse
Unit 5 Agecroft Enterprise Park
Swinton
Manchester
M27 8WA

www.adventurebikewarehouse.com

I plan to start the presentation at 2.00pm and it will cover both trips this summer.

If you are booked on one of the trips and you cannot make it for any reason, I will send you all the presentation notes via email so will be up to speed with everything.

Gary will knock up one of his infamous Chili's for the occasion and will have a wide range of adventure bike equipment and clothing on display.

Anyone is welcome to come to this and listen to me woffle on for a couple of hours about riding in the USA. If you are interested in a trip in the future or just want to know about riding in North America come along and I'll be able to answer any questions you might have.

It is a good one though...

No need to get jealous Tony :rob Chris obviously picked out the picture that had the best riding style that would grace his website! :blagblah And the cleanest bike!! :D

He told me that it was because he was the leader of the pack and the rest of the shot was a bit "mehhh"....

IIRC i ended up going a "different" route back to the hotel that day and dragged Steve and Judith plus others with me :D

Book.

Hi folks, how I wish I was coming with you,
Went a couple of years ago and had a fantstic time, did the Dalton and others.
I was going to post in the for sale section but would like it to go to someone who may actually use it.
I have a copy of The Adventurous Motorcyclists guide to Alaska,
Written by the people at Motoquest.
I found it very helpful when I was planning my trip.
It is a mine of information for anybody planning on riding in Alaska.
Best price I can find is on Amazon at £20.
For sale from me £12 posted.
£10 collected, I will be at the Dent do if that helps.

Paul
