I watched it all. Top trip!! Don't mind moose, bears, gravel or mud. But hate mozzies!

Planning my own adventure for June. Only France, Spain and a little into Morocco. How did you store all your video footage?

Cheers

Nice one dude. Was that a can of mace you had when you were setting up your tent at the beginning? I'm planning to trip from Anchorage to New York next year. Very inspiring...can't wait

Its bear spray, and a 8" sog military knife.

Anchorage to New York will be an awesome trip. Take the long way and be sure to go through the westen states. Nevada, Arizona, Southern Utah, Colorado are just amazing.

Ive got pics and video to prove it:)

Dude

I`m going to Alaska in July and now I really can`t wait:thumb

What time of year did you go and what camera did you use?

What time of year did you go and what camera did you use?

I left Vancouver BC June 15th and got back around july 20th.
The scenes where you see me freezing and snow is just when Im going over mountain peaks.
The camera was a samsung sc300xl with an external mounting lense.

Better pack my cold weather gear......:thumb

Do have a detailed route you took? Would be interesting to see it and compare it with my proposed route.

The scenery looks stunning and I did a Glacier Nat Park, Icefield Parkway to Jasper, down to Kamloops and then the 99 to Vancouver last year as a taster. (Bilco US tour 2008 on ride reports if you are interested).

Nice One

Hi Dude

Just finished watching it all ....... and I was'nt bored.

Great stuff and I like your style that the video was shot in, with some great songs in it, like Eddie Vedder - Society - Into the Wild Soundtrack which is also a great film.

You definatley got me fired up for my trip next year to the States, I may have to take a detour .

I really appresiate you time and effort in putting the film together .... Thank you.

Martin :clap:clap:clap

Thanks for all the great replies. I cant wait to do my next trip and actually film it with the intent of making a film. Going to get me a real nice video camera.

sgt Bilco, If you have time ( 2 weeks ) you could travell all the major routes in Alaska no problem.

Dont forget you HAVE to do the Dempster in the Yukon territory. Most people take the Top of the world hwy to Dawson city then head up. The top of the world hwy is awesome too.
here is the map...sorry its pretty basic

feel free to ask anything you want. Anything to help make someones trip to Alaska as enjoyable as mine

Dude

Our basic route is as follows:

San Francisco
Vancouver
Prince George
Watson Lake via R16 and R37 (Hyder)
Whitehorse
Tok R1
Fairbanks
Haul Road to Prudhoe Bay
Fairbanks
Tetlin Junction
Top of the World Highway to Dawson City
Possible Dempster Highway (depending on time)
White Horse
Watson Lake
Prince George
Vancouver
San Francisco

We`ve got a 3 week window in July so it`s a bit full on.

Can you give me a list of some good places to see, stop etc etc?

You can e-mail me on [email protected] if it`s easier.

Any help will be much appreciated :thumb

All of the places you see on the video were at different locations than where your going.
howerver, I was in tok, fairbanks, and dawson, whitehorse, and watson lake.
For fairbanks, go camp the night at chena hotsprings resort http://www.chenahotsprings.com/. Get there before 11pm so you could have a drink in the all ice bar. Everything even your drink holders are ice
Dawson, go to the sourdough saloonhttp://www.downtownhotel.ca
Whitehorse camp at Takhini hotspringshttp://www.takhinihotsprings.yk.ca
Watson lake visit the sign forest AND BRING A SIGN TO ADD.http://www.yukoninfo.com/watson/signpostforest.htm
After Watson lake camp the night a Liard hotspringshttp://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/liard_rv_hs/

Thats all I can suggest. I choses not to do the haul road based on the advise from locals and people who have done both. The consensus was that the Dempster what without a doubt a better trip.

Like I said all the great scenery you saw in my vids came from other locations in alaska. Southen Alaska, The parks hwy, Denali hwy,

Thanks Dude:thumb

Just a couple more things, one of our party will be 2 up on a 1200GS so would the Top of the World and the Dempster be OK for this? I can`t see a problem and they are very experienced riders but from your vid it looked "interesting to say the least:augie

Do you have the details of the tyre place in Fairbanks as we will be changing to TKC`s and there is no way I`m paying a dealer $240:eek:

Cheers Dude
