And all good things come to an end.

It seems that Johnny/Uinneag/HRH Oonyack has left the building. No final hurrah or flounce. He's gone quietly and didn't give me any indication of this when I spoke to him last night. I known he was getting disgruntled and fed up with the board so maybe he's decided to call it a day. I hope this is just a wee break that he maybe needs but I wouldn't bet on it.

He asked that his account be closed and the management did as was asked.

I for one will miss Johnny's input on the forum especially in the SS where he was a huge character and contributor to much that was good in here. He might have upset a few people on the way (me included on the very odd occasion if I'm honest) but at least you knew where you stood with Johnny. He's fiercely loyal and brutally honest. Nothing wrong with that in my book. He's also a great guy and I'm lucky enough to be able to class him as a really close friend.

Thanks for the memories Johnny. It's been a a pleasure sharin' the forum wi' you...

I'll miss him too, however I don't for a second think this is the end of him.

Those long dark nights on Skye are hard to contend with, he will return I'm certain ;)

Seemed to have some very interesting posts now and again - if only I understood what he was on about :blast

I presume you'l still gie him a shout for any meets/doos ronnie ? :thumb2

Thanks also for the hospitality and good times we've had at various Skye Do's and the Ne'er To Be Forgotten Wigwambams. :clap :clap

Thats a shame. Hope it's just a temporary break from here.

We need more of the shite below and less the mindless dross that seems prevelent at the moment if we want to keep this place on a level above the usual bike forum mundaneness :thumb2

I had a feeling that the way his posts were goin that he was fed up!

But I think fed up on more than one level and this board was an outlet that dried up

I'm sure he'll be on one of the SS gigs tho? Won;t he Ronnie?

That's a great pity. I've only met the guy on a few occasions and I've found him to be very sound guy - regardless of what gets posted on here.:D

Sometimes it's good to walk away from things - fresh start an' all that guff.
But I sincerely hope we haven't seen the last of the fella, it'll be a duller place without him. And I hope he still turns up for the 'do's'.

And I hope the fecker does a bit of lurking, too.

I think he was embarrassed aboot the wallet fiasco and that's what's decided it for him

I was sworn to secrecy here but feel it's only right to put the record straight.

Johnny claimed thast he'd lost his wallet containing £140 and a load of bank cards. When Doyle actually found it, all it contained was a fiver and a signed photo of John Barrowman.

Sad to see him go but he'll still be only a phone call away, well that's as long as he pays his bill :oonyack :D

Ronno, you were sworn to secrecy about the John Barrowman photie, no good will come of it aye tell ye. :augie :oonyack

Hook, line and sinker!
:clap

Edit: Bugger, it seems it's true. Including the bit about John Barrowman. What a shame, and what a loss to UKGSer. :(

I'm sorry that Johnny has gone and hope he'll be back on the site another day and I certainly hope he'll find the time to come to SS do's.....:beerjug:

i've never always agreed wi his opinions, but since meetin Johnny quite a few times now, have got to agree he's a pretty sound gadge :thumb. the good stuff he's done for charidee, events he's organised and his insane humour have only done good for the site IMHO. only last night i was pissin myself at his wee spat wi Garf :D.
a' the best Uinneag:clap:clap:clap, hope it's jist the SAD's kickin in an ye'll be back

no danger !!! he'll be back , to many like minded folk oan here in the SS ... he's wan o the characters that makes this place ...... he's probably just got a dose o the ****ums .. :thumb2:thumb2

He's fiercely loyal and brutally honest.

You mean he meant it when he called me a ugly cnut? :(

Only been on here for a year and met Mr Oonyack on a few occasions and was the first tosser I met. He's always been made to feel welcome and needless to say I had a laugh when he's around :thumb2

Like everything in life, do it while you enjoy it. When it stops being fun stop doing it. In a way I still regard the Calum's Road ride as partly his "baby" and it was a big "oh crap" moment when he said he wouldn't be making it - which is a real shame :(
