anyone doing soft luggage or ally panniers other than the varios? :beerjug:

I don't pick my bike up until a week today. I'm planning a weekend trip and using soft luggage I already own so will see how I get on.

I have the Givi Xtream panniers and tail back and also the Givi 30l cylinder bag.

Although I've ordered a tank bag, I'm not expecting that to arrive in time so ill be off with this, hoping to camp if the weather eases some. I also have different size Kriega stuff so I can mix and match to suit how much I want to carry.

It's not as good as having hard panniers but I figure I will get by. The Givi panniers are well made and of course cost way less.

I'll pop some pictures up of the whole setup once I get sorted next week before I set off.

that'll be great:beerjug:

I really only need luggage once a year, for my 10 day Alps trips, so didn't bother to get the hard panniers.
The last two years I've used a Bags Connection tail pack on my Multi 1200. It's 52 litres and large enough for the trip. It sits nice and low, is stable, and very easy to attach.
I don't pick my bike up until end of week, so will see how it fits then, but I think it will work well. If not I'll get the silver BMW 50 L roll bag which looks good & simple.
These will both go on the pillion seat as I travel solo. I think if you're two up panniers are the way to go.

50L BMW silver roll bag, its got a hard base as well so everything stays neatly packed and I secure it across the back seat with 2 rok straps takes 2 mins to attach and tank bag is perfect for 2 weeks away.
