Any pics Bake? and how hard and time consuming did you find it.

I'll try and get some up,not tried uploading pics before, i found it relatively easy after watching one of the vids recommended by HV and i bought some cheap tools off ebay to do them, time wise was about 15 minutes a box.

I'm only in Buckley if you wanted to come up i don't mind doing them with you or any others

You've made a good job of fitting the wrap kits, did you see the YouTube video posted by a past customer of mine? I thought it was really well put together and should help allay the fears of anyone attempting wrapping for the first time, I'll see if I can find it and link it here later.

Thanks for the compliment:thumb2

Yes looked at the YouTube video, the best tip is to use plenty of water from a spray bottle and to wet your fingers when handling the film, think it would be a good idea to post up the link for the vid, i think the wrap kit with the world map on is the dogs, came out not long after id ordered the black

Thanks Bake, will do.

I've been watching this thread whilst I've been going through my own warranty problem with BMW related to the boxes.
Like so many people here my boxes are looking tatty- they started corroding from the ride home.
As son as I got the bike home I washed the bike down, dried them and applied ACF 50 the next day.

Despite that they look like this:

16179198_1657349401231660_1123896931761818286_o.jpg

This is from one 40 mile ride, which with the best will in the world, is a bit shite.

I've heard back from Bahnstormer today and disappointed to report that they aren't going to do anything about it.

BMW's line on this is:

‘The panniers are untreated aluminium and always have been, this is by intent. The panniers are designed for overland touring and the untreated finish means they are easier to maintain in the long term whereas other finishes chip or scratch allowing corrosion etc to get under the surface finish where it cannot be cleaned off.’

This is simply tosh (I did 20k on a Tiger with Givi boxes and had zero problems with corrosion) but there isn't much I can do about it- I'm escalating to BMW Customer Service on principle, but don't expect anything to be done.
Those that have had theirs replaced have been lucky, I reckon.
The only recourse I have here is take my business elsewhere, which is what I will be doing in future.

I've already replaced the topbox with a Bumot topbox, which is so much better than the BMW box.

Going to sell the BMW boxes- should I remove the locks and keep them, or can they be recoded for the new owner?

Mine weren't replaced at the dealer cost, I don't think BMW were going to entertain any claim under warranty

Dealer paid/supplied new box's as gesture of "goodwill"
