Aluminium box's

Ok, great.
Should I do anything to the locks when I sell the panniers?
I mean, is there any issue with selling the panniers coded to my key?
The only thing the locks will open is the sat nav lock so I am guessing it isn't really an issue?

Can your dealer remove the lock wafers? Not sure if you need the key to do this if the are locks are open

Just remove the locks; there's a small tab you push in with a small flat screwdriver, and they'll pop out.:thumb

You've made a good job of fitting the wrap kits, did you see the YouTube video posted by a past customer of mine? I thought it was really well put together and should help allay the fears of anyone attempting wrapping for the first time, I'll see if I can find it and link it here later.

Do you still have plans to do the black wrap for pre-LCs? I've got a TC TB in need of more black on it! :thumb:thumb

I do have plans to do this, I have templated a pair of panniers and intend to cut some paper blanks to offer them up to the boxes to ensure they are a good fit or to tweak as necessary to ensure a good fit, this has taken an age I've had several enquiries regarding the earlier boxes I need to pull my finger out and get it sorted, more news soon I hope............

I had similar problems with Honda on a 6 month old, 1,000 mile Goldwing. Where the lacquer kept peeling off of the wheels. I had 3 sets of wheels fitted to the bike in the 2 years I owned it, after the warranty Honda would not rectify the problem as they said it was only a cosmetic issue. The rocker covers were also replaced after 6 months use. When the aluminum is lacquered it is more difficult to rectify when it starts to peel off as to re lacquer them the whole wheel needs to have the tyre removed and all the lacquer removed. I said I was happy for Honda to pay the cost of having an alternative covering , such as powder coating but they would not wear this... All the Goldwings are the same, You pay £25,000 for a bike you expect better quality, all you actually get is the same poor quality but more of it......:):)

I can see the appeal of this kit, being relatively easy to fit, but what I dislike about it that "half" of your pannier is still exposed to the elements. Meaning that further down the line when you decide you want to peel damaged film off, it'll reveal a defenate weathered outline, what will you do then?????

Fair play to you Sir, I'd have enough of it in the first 5 minutes.

EV, how long did that take you?

I was out today with all three boxes and fucking hell, trying to unlock the boxes when I finished work to load up nearly broke my key three times! The keyless key feels like it's going to snap. The locks on all three are way too though and at some point will snap. Likewise the key is too fragile.

Anyone else wish alu luggage and a keyless key have concerns? Do you carry the plastic spare key with you?

Took couple hours they give couple test panels with the kit and watched YouTube video, I know what you mean about the pannier locks they can be bloody stiff think getting another key cut

Erm...... what?

I've got GIVI luggage and keys can be stiff in those too. A bit of 3 in 1 oil now and then does help things to stay smoother for longer.
