Where is the opposite to this / I.E the stroke going the other way?
Where it says it on the Keyboard it comes up as a # Tried everything
Does anybody know?

Cheers

It sounds like you have the wrong keyboard driver. If so then other keys such as double quote - " and '@' will be transposed.

If you have an American keyboard with @ above the number 2 and # above the number 3 then you need to configure the PC to use an American rather than a British keyboard.

If it's not a stupid question, why are you using an American keyboard? Keyboards are so cheap that it would be worth picking a proper one up from PC-World or similar.

It was given to me after i dropped a load of coffee over the old one. Its a very nice logitech one and i have worked out certain ways like the £ sign which is not on there which is shift 3. There are a few others but only one or two but i just cant find this one.

I am about to buy a new system for christmas which offcoarse will come with a keyboard so thats why.

\ (backslash) is above L\H windows key.

How Odd?

The Key next to the Z button which is supposed to be the slash is not there?
It goes Z then right next door its the shift?

Forget all that pratting about Banger.....just tuen the KB upside down and the slash key becomes a backslash.

Simple.

No, honest, thanks aren't necessary... all part of the service ;)

and get a wireless one - while you're at it - it'll justify some spending as an 'upgrade' - and be compatible with the next 'puter and probably better than the cheapie you'll get ?

keyboards: wireless, schmireless.

these are the bollox. buckling spring tech OWNZ!

BTW i'm looking for another. they're like hens teeth.

Press ALT and type 047 like this / google ascii codes and print it off invaluable.

My IBM keyboard says 1985 on the bottom and can be used for weight training:D
You can still buy new keycaps for APL programing!
