On the road, for now:-)
Hi GSERS........it's been a while since I posted on here.
Anyhow, my old 98 1100, with 70k appears to have some kind of gasket blowing I think.
Whilst looking at taking her apart to do some much needed TLC ive noticed that on the left hand side of the cylinder head, where it goes into the main block, the side of the engine and alternator cover is covered in black sooty deposits, it looks like it is slightly wet in places.
Am I right in thinking that there will be a gasket at the base of the cyclinder head/bore and this may have started to fail.......Is it going to be a costly repair??? I will get it repaired anyhow but wondered if it needs doing urgently, dont want to cause any damage to the old girl as I am hoping theres loads of life in her yet.
Also how hard is it to fit braided lines and bleed the abs up etc.

Any advice will be greatly received,

with thanks and best regards,

Nigel.:chickendance:ymca2:aidan

Just try and retighten the head before you go and spend any money.I've know quite a few come loose:thumb2

Stainless lines on our bikes aren't tough at all. If you have bar risers (or might get them) I'd suggest having them lengthen the line from the ABS to the master cylinder by 3", works a treat.
