Reason I decided to not go for a replacement Anakee 3 , when my 2014 bike came with them the first rear was written off with a non repairable puncture at 600 miles , a bolt went through the tread and sidewall.
Its replacement was punctured at 700 miles by an object larger than a stop and go plug so had to be changed (it was later repaired with a proper large plug and promptly forgotten about when I realised how noisy the tyres really were on a Continental trip and I fitted PR4's then Avons).
Those Anakees when taken off had done 4500 plus on the rear and about 6000 on the front and were barely 1/2 worn).
When the new bike turned up in the back end of last year I did not have time to change the Anakees fitted and was to say suprised about how much quieter they were and how much grippier, quizzed dealer and Michelin rep as to whether the compound or design had been altered but told no.
Think this is utter *ollocks, the rear Anakee on the new bike has done 2100 miles and is down to 4mm and visibly squared off (none of the miles have been on motorways only a couple of hundred two up and mainly on twisty back roads.
It would have never lasted my holidays and a 2500 miles trip down to the Alps
