Andres,is it here yet?

We'll get along just fine :D

I went out for a lovely, long ride into Derbyshire yesterday evening.......... two things struck me, she holds a line on the road like a pissed, one eyed, three legged pig on roller skates [1] and she is 'king tall (I'm 6ft), so much so that on a couple of easy lanes I nearly got caught out trying to dab on some rocky bits and there was nothing to dab onto [2].

I'm gonna have to up my game a bit with this bike, I can now see how it will very easily bite you on the arse if you let your guard down, a Yamaha Serrow it is not! :D

[1] To be fair I've got the suspension wound right down to give it a few miles of full boinging up and down to break it in.......I think that's enough now and I'll spend today setting it up properly.

[2] I really AM shit off road, no self deprecation here. In my defence I'll always give anything a go but really, I am shit off road :D

Conti TA3s will transform the road holding but obviously not as good off-road.

Yeah, had them on my 1190R, brilliant tyres :thumb2 but I do actually want to use this off road so no good to me (I have the SM wheels for the road with Conti Attacks which are like cut slicks) ~ as I said above, and I was being somewhat tongue in cheek about the handling, it's all down to how soft I currently have the suspension.......).

Mind you the TKCs are not exactly great off road so when they are worn out (which shouldn't take long) I'll change over to something more off road orientated.

I've been using MT21s recently. Good off-road but on the road you need to be a bit careful on wet bends, but apart from that they're pretty good.

May not work so well on a light bike though :-)

MT21- They’re fine on all dirt bikes

I Use them on my XR400R and WR250F

Can see the point of fitting Conti road tyres on a 600 cc dirt bike

Each to their own & fine to ride to Guernsey’s Starbucks

I don’t have a 600cc dirt bike and I haven’t fitted Conti road tyres . That would be the Road Attack. There’s a clue in the name ‘Trail’.

Do you get a loss of traction under the bed ? Any rubber should be fine :-)

I use Michelin Trackers on mine. very good off road, although I should say they are the only proper knobblies I've ever used on any bike. Laughably cheap after a lifetime buying road tyres too. They do wander all over the road, but you get used to it after a while. No drama in the wet either if you remember to take a bit of care.

The TKCs are massively better on the road and I have no issues with them at all, bar they wear out very quickly and they are expensive. Surprisingly OK off road until they get clogged with mud, which is very quickly. Decent 50/50 tyre IMO.

I've never used them before and am really impressed with how good a road tyre they actually are, they genuinely don't feel don't feel like you're riding on blocks at all and grip really well (only ridden in the dry so far). They were fine off road on what I did last night but, as you say, I wouldn't want to use them on a typical muddy lane.

I stand corrected ( a nearly 700cc one then) and the trail attacks you have chosen look shite on a bike made for dirt roads - like putting slicks on an Arctic Truck

Not uncommon on Flipflop artics, I read it here.................

This is an Arctic Truck

Ahhhhhhh :thumb2

Yeah, seen enough of those in Iceland and spent a midnight excursion there in one as a passenger on the snow fields. I've never been so scared and laughed so much in all my life :D

Says a man who fits more glazing to his bike than Everest !!!

It’s not everyone’s egg and chips but thanks for the style advice :-))

So predictable

About as predictable as you slagging off someone else because they don’t use a bike the way you think they should.

Vanity is not a trait I’d normally associate you with.
Every day is a school day !

Give Ady Smith a bell he's in Burton and has a play area near Matlock. He's a good lad and will give tuition on your own bike.

Your bike
You choice

Vanity and slagging is normally associated with yourself - you have form for it & constantly run down people on here with your snide comments and underhand digs, with a faux :-).....that are so predictable

Me ?

I couldn’t give a stuff what you think or say

You’re always right and what you have is always better, bigger, prettier, lavish, blinged up and better than the rest of us could ever afford

What happened to the 2021 ‘new leaf’ & the new Arsey??

Leopards can’t change their spots
