Animated Gifs.

Hi,
I have copied animated gifs from say google but they don't animate?

Is there something switched off on my PC? its a fairly new PC

You might need to view them with an appropriate viewer. Safest bet is to try opening them in your web browser which almost certainly supports the animated features of gif images.

After you have downloaded them, what is the file extension?
ie. If you downloaded a file called, for example banger.gif
Is it stored on your PC as banger.gif or has it changed to banger.bmp?

If it has it won't work as it has changed from a gif to a bitmap.

If it has done that it is probably because your Temporary Internet Files have grown too big.
If that's the case do the following, I'm presuming you are using Internet Explorer...

Go to Tools >> Internet Options
Under the "General Tab" go to the section called Temporary Internet Files and click "Delete Files".
