I have always enjoyed anakee's extended grip even though they wear a little faster, any info on prolonged life?

Apparantly the Annakee 2 is supposed to offer better wet weather performance and extended life.I have only done a couple of miles so far,but am going to Spain on Friday. We expect to do 2000 -2500 miles in around seven days,so will have a better idea of performance of the tyres when we get back

Getting a set fitted later this week in preparation for a little round trip to Czech Republic ... used to like the Anakee on the GSA, so very interested to see how these handle/wear.

The Trail Attacks I'm currently on have been good but the rear has squared off a lot more than I would have expected and the tread pattern means although there looks (is) a lot of rubber still present, the critical central line is down to the markers, front still looks like new annoyingly.

Be interested to see what prices you got quoted ... PM'ed you!

What kind of mileage have you had out of your rear TA ? :nenau

Sorry, don't want to hi-jack this thread ...

The TA rear has done about 4k of real mixed riding, lots of back roads, etc and some motorway ... it wasn't until I took a long hard look this weekend that I realised how it was wearing. The tread depth is quite chunky when new, but the block pattern seems to wear heavily in the block corners, so if you trace a line down the centre, you are very close to the wear marker block, whilst the outers of the tyre look pretty untouched ... and before someone says it, yes I do ride corners ...

Lulled me into a false sense that I'd be getting more mileage out of these ...

Interesting :nenau I've had over 7k out of my rear Anakee but they don't really inspire confidence in the wet. Have ordered a set of TAs.

It will be interesting to find out what the Anakee 2 is like :thumb

I had two sets of Anakees early in the bikes life ... never had any issues with them in the wet particularly (but, neither have I generally with the TAs).

I will mention that the front-end feeling of the TA is no-where near as stable as the Anakees and that does translate into a lightness and shimmy during pushing on and in slow speed turns (not corners, ie. 90 turns into street, etc). Other than the slightly longer warm up time they were otherwise fine.

I read on one of the bike mags that Michelin are claiming 10,000 miles out of the new Anakee 2s.

could be one of those " * if driving at a constant speed of 55mph with no acceleration or braking" conditional claims

1200 miles from the original fit Anakees with no nasty moments. Replacements fitted when the bike was serviced but the originals would have lasted a few more miles if I was desperate. Keep us all posted on how the new version performs.

Ouch, got my set being fitted on Fri am ready for trip away this week, but there seems to be a hell of a variance in prices floating around ...

I spoke to 4 different tyre places for a front/rear set, fitted and balanced, ride in/out and got prices ranging from 172 inc upto 244 inc (!), with 3 dealers having to ring me back because they weren't yet 'on the system' (read, wholesaler needs to catch up!) and two telling me that Michelin will only deal direct, so prices will be higher -- also got warned that 1st June will see prices increase (sounds like a scare tactic).

Is this just because they're new or are Michelin futzing about with their tyre supply?

Worth ringing around a bit ...
