I was about to give up with the wretched thing, 'hanging'/not starting properly, and re-wire my 2610 back on the GS.

Plugged it into the PC yesterday, just to see what it would do (cos it wouldn't do much else...) and Lo! New firmware AND new maps available.

So far, so good. Haven't tried it on the bike yet but it's switched on and off several times now without a glitch.

just updated mine in a possibly forlorn hope that it will fix the bug that stops me accessing route files on the sdcard....
already requested a returns number off garmin to send it back for testing as they are baffled...
