Another brake failure – a cautionary tale - another servoectomy

Neil read the codes :

Dodgy ABS Sensor (but cleared)
Dodgy indicator bulb (cleared)
and 'Low Pressure in rear circuit' (keeps coming back). Servo doesn't run with the rear pedal pressed

Basically, the Servo is coming out. Dropped it off today and see the outcome tomorrow.

I had low pressure in the front circuit. Ripped out the abs servo and I love my brakes now. They work for a start:D

Let's hope they make a better fist of it this time round and their PI cover is big enough...

ABS is rarely the problem, bmw have been fitting it since 1988.
It's almost always the servo assist that's the problem and that was only fitted for a very short period from 2003 up until 2008.

Probably a dumb question, but . . . why is the post-servectomy braking better than the residual braking?

A direct link from master cylinder to calipers - rather than fluid being shunted from master cylinder to the servo unit, then shunted through the multi chambered servo unit to the calipers .
