I am looking to buy 1G of RAM for the confuser.

Having never ventured into this field before I find I cannot distinguish the difference between similar products of a vastly differing price (OK you get what you pay for).
I suppose money is not the object (within reason) more like knowing the dealer and or the brand is reliable.

Can anyone help Please Where would you spend your money?

If it helps my existing chip has a sticker that reads as follows;

Samsung
Korea H 0237

PC2 100U - 25330 - B1

M368L 6432 DTL - CB0

512MB DDR PC2100 CL2.5

I guess the last line is the most useful

I also have 3 ports/spaces spare

Something like this should be fine, and not a bad price at the moment -

  1. Go to here: http://www.crucial.com/uk/
  2. Select the Crucial System Scanner by pressing the blue scan my system button
  3. You may have to allow an Activ-X component but it is quite safe to use
  4. Once the system has done its business it will tell you what you have, what you have left, what your mainboard can cope with and link you to the various upgrade options.

They will also guarantee compatibility if you buy from them.
Oh and you are unlikely to better their prices against other memory manufacturers.

If you still want to play the market on eBay at least it will tell you the exact spec you need.
