Well the Anakee's are finally dead, long live the Anakee 2's :thumb2, just over 10000miles and the front and rear have worn exactly the same amount , slight squaring on the rear but still nothing you can actually feel riding, overall very pleased with the Anakee's no slides, wobbles or anything and enough confidence in em for peg down cornering :thumb2

I'm also wondering about tyres....based in Milton Keynes - where's the best place to get a set of TKC80's (before you ask, I've got fed up of going around the round-a-abouts and want to go over them instead! :augie)

Was the tread depth the same when new? IIRC Tourances a few years ago both had about 8mm of tread so one front would last about two rears IYSWIM. Now the depth of the front is 5mm and surprise, surprise, the front lasts about as long as the rear, all from taking 3mm of tread off. BTW other tyre manufacturers seem to have the smae ploy :(

Similar thought to the make the toothpaste hole bigger so more toothpaste gets used :(

Best I've got so far is £137 + 13 P&P for a pair... EDIT: for TKC80's, not Anakees!!

I guess some questions around tyres are worthwile as I really don't know - is it possible to fit these yourself or do they need balancing as everything else does (alledgedly)?

I can't see it making too much difference when you're halfway around the world but what appears to add cost is the labour to take the things off and put them back on the bike.

Thoughts anyone?

John not sure if the tyre tread were different as must admit it wasn't the first thing on my mind when I picked the bike up ;), will check on the new ones though, but at 10000miles I don't mind if I need to change both at once, had a ZX10r before this and the rear lated 1800miles before it was knackered:eek:,
Palerider I would say a front needs balancing and not bother with the rear as on a bike with a chain/sprocket/cush drive theres lots of other things to throw the balance out, I know most tyre fitters also throw in a charge to get rid of your old tyes as well just for good measure :(, if your getting them delivered that Ebay link is slightly cheaper as they only charge for postage on 1 tyre if you buy a pair.
