I did this, despite other threads here!
Mapsource just won't load after - a conflict with a 3rd party map (Malsing maps). Ended up uninstalling, and reinstalling mapsource. This won't work now - problem with registry.

About to give up.

Garmin has SERIOUSLY weak software.

Maybe tom tom better.

Hopefully, there'll soon be a fix available for this version of Mapsource.
I think it looks far better than the previous one, but the coding suck.

I've loaded it onto a Vista and XP machine and in both cases it takes an age to refresh - bloody frustrating and I wish I could back it off to the previous version.:(

Can you not do a system restore to an earlier date? That's what I did to remove it :thumb

I've reverted back to 6.13.7, as I found a copy in my download file on the PC. :)
I got fed up with the slowness of the newer one.

I don't THINK a windows system restore would roll back Mapsource, it would just roll back the windows settings..

Not if you're using XP or Vista

Bring back Windows 95 I say!!!!!!!!

Just as a matter of interest, is Mapsource Linux compatible? Come to that, is ANY mapping/navigation software Linux compatible?

You guys are fab

Thought I'd lost all my old routes as i'd upgraded my mapsource, until I used the link above.

many many thanks

The NT version shouldn't have any effect on Mapsource updates Dave.

I guess that he is asking if it is possible to go back from 6.14.1 to 6.13.7 - after installing CN Europe 2009 NT?

I must say my two PC's (Vista) and Zumo are all now running CN Europe 2009 NT and 6.14.1 without too much drama. The maps load slighlty more slowly on the PC but it's not life threatening, much depending on the scale it seems.

I only use it perhaps once a week, mostly to help people plot possible routes and it works fine.

If you install 2009 NT on the pc it updates mapsource to the latest version which shows the maps in a different style!
Dave

Edit: yes, thats exactly what i am asking!! its almost slowed map redraw to a stand still on my mates PC, he has tried a few times to revert by installing 6.137 but can't get rid of it

The problem is that most people's computors haven't the ability to tun 6.14.1 at a similar speed to 6.13.7 so most prefer to use 6.13.7.

CN 2009 though updates Mapsource automatically, and apparently won't run with 6.13.7, which is why you'll see an my post regarding someone working on making 6.13.7 run with CN 2009. And then you'll have the most up-to-date maps, and a computor that isn't struggling to show the graphics :)
