Any green lanes around Alnwick/Seahouses?

Right we get to the bottom of this you told Snoopy that the TRF might fold and Snoopy then reports the Northumbria TRF might fold.....still somebody is talking 5hit.

Yes there was a motion in the national TRF AGM to abolish the TRF it was scaremongering at it's worst it cost the guy his seat on the commitee.

I presume your talking a few years ago which would be pre NERC which was when the TRF Nationally was using a lot of tracks on a pressumed vehicular right of way. ie we had no evidence that there was a right of way but we thought we could prove it. Yes you could have been stopped and prosicuted if the police wanted to. Then the NERC bill came in and basically said prove it or lose it plus some other things which also threatened alot of lane's.

Yes i understand lanes close but also lanes open up. i know you've done lanes which where legal for a short time but are now closed but just because you go along a lane once does not mean it's legal for the rest of time. information change's from week to week from day to day. I presume you handed Snoopy a MM file with all the lanes that you had been told, what 5 years ago, are you now responsible for Snoopy being arrested, bike impounded/destroyed, on the lanes that you told him if so carry on. and to Snoopy good luck.

Loueye don't you worry about me being a rather large ex-chairman cause it doesn't worry me...

Guys,

When exactly did Clennel, Deer, The Street etc become illegal?? Are they still legal on the Scottish side??

I used to ride these lanes nearly every weekend and never had any issues whatsoever? I was never a member of the TRF - but knew one of the members there (Steve Bertram - RIP Steve) and he was the one who originally drew them on my maps.

After a long lay-off (a few knee injuries etc) I was thinking of starting to ride again - but this may chnage my opinion if some of my favourite lanes are no longer accessible!

Clennel, Dere and the Street where never added to the definitive right of way map ever and so have never been made illegal they just where never legal.
Yes laws are diffrent in Scotland I'm not a expert in the right of way Laws in Scotland.

glad my back garden backs on to fields and i can just play on them all i want and after a great day out afew months back up on the otterburn ranges i just head for them when their open , ive been on the TRF web site they give nothing away unless you got your hands in your pockets , have aword with the new northumberland council their happy to tell you the info you want for free

Get your hands in your pocket Captainpugwash . The TRF needs more money to defend the few lanes we have been left with since NERC became law in 2006 . Why should the TRF give information to non members ?

End of mini rant .

Cheers

Harry

we should be able to ride anywhere we want lol :augie

It's not the TRF's job to keep the Definative right's of way map it's the job of the local council and the Council have to by law make the information available to the general public so don't think your being treat special by the council.

I presume you are riding where you want anyway cause you trespass on the Ranges as you have stated. Your probably the reason the event on the ranges was lost, illegal use...

iam the reason ????????? the last time i was their was with this lot off here , its your type is why i wouldnt join trf .

I've put you off the TRF by the way i'm not a member so even if you where a member you wouldn't meet me there.

Gentlemen(?)

Are we at cross purposes here?

When we talk of riding on the ranges, I recall we rode on the range roads, as were a few cars, not open land.

So before we all murder each other, could we all sit back and have a think before we issue more abuse and such?

Brian, it appears your very quick to judge others and you seem to make things up as at no point did captain pugwash say that he trespasses on the ranges as they in themselves are owned by the MOD and are public rights of way providing the red flags aren't flying and you stick to the main routes. I was actually one of the 2 people leading the ride out to which captain pugwash refers earlier and have been using the otterburn ranges for many years now without any issues and with consent of the military police to which we have spoken to on several occasions. Given the above I think you need to get your facts correct before you go branding someone a criminal. And with regrads to you being branded a D*******, you do very little to disprove this statement with your holyer than thou, blame everyone attitude. If you do not want this kind of response I suggest you consider your posts a little more thoroughly before submitting. And finally with regards to wanting this brought to the attention of a moderator, I was wondering if you realise how you are coming off to others with your "tell tale" antics. But then again given your previous posts I can only assume you dont care what others think about you just what they say about you to others.

Just my view, for what it's worth.

Your right the roads are open and Public in the ranges. thought this thread was about Green Lanes in Northumberland sorry didn't realise it had been changed to "we don't ride green lanes we ride Tarmac lanes thread" I also presume when you mean about rides in the Cheviots you mean the A68 and A697 (that's the Wooler road for those who can't read maps) Capt a meeting sometime is no bother not sure i'll be able to comment much you only seem to ride Tarmac "lanes".
