i'm stripping the hpn tank on Camille and some of the paint just peels off in big flakes but some seems to have bonded really well with the plastic. Is there any type of paint stripper thats safe to use on a plastic tank.:nenau

I'm toying with getting my Rally Bike resprayed and shall be asking a few questions from a local paint guy when I see him:thumb

Trouble is, when we've both got them looking gorgeous, muddy Welsh trail riding will spoil them and they'll look so gorgeous we won't sell them:blast:blast:blast

maybe

Why for not mister:confused:

the paint is soda resistant. i tryed tonight blasting it with a very course grit used to remove paint and after what seemed like forever it had only roughened the surface:blast which is hy i'm asking if a nitromores type paint stripper would work without eating the plastic.

Excuse my ignorance, but why do you need to remove all the paint before a respray?

paintable nylon type i think. its not white which is what the polyethylen are like, its a slightly opake off cream colour.

Poly ones are flexible compared to the nylon, if it don't flex when you press on the side its nylon.

Only asked is the poly ones can't be painted and the paint eventual flakes off like you described.

no flex here sir

flipin things more ridged than a steel tank,

to get the level of finish i require meens starting from a fresh canvas.

A good sand down will give you a fresh canvas.

You are only going to get to base plastic , this will have to be rubbed down anyway.

A metal tank requires primer , as dose a plastic tank.

You seem to making a job much harder for yourself.

just think of plastic panels , you dont strip those do you.
