I picked up the caliper seal kits from Joe Duffys today and gave them to my mechanic Mark who has had the calipers themselves since last Thurs night. We are going to have to locate new internal crossover seals (Abbey Seals I'd imagine) as the calipers HAD to be split for stripping. They were in Grade A sh1te inside to be honest as salt had gotten past the dust seals and in behind the pistons but they scrubbed up very well.
Im hoping to be on the bike by the weekend with the shock rebuild postponed for a couple of weeks. Its not gone yet but ain't far off.
As for the photo rally - 24 done this year and no reason why history can't repeat itself in 2013!! The Varadero was great for doing it on but I can't wait to do it on the GSA.
I've had the GSA on the road with the brakes sorted and a new battery for a few weeks now and I LOVE IT!!! I've done about 400 miles in the last fortnight and 3 photo rally points!!
Even though the back shock is well past its best and the rear tyre is squared off its still very stable and predictable in the bends and will only get better when she's shod with new boots and a shock refurb.
Now I'm off to do another photo rally point - I just love getting out on this beast!!!!
